Where it began
She started from the bottom.
She built something anyway.
My name is Emily. I came to Dubai in 2011 — leaving behind a country that was beginning to fall apart, carrying the quiet urgency of someone who needed to earn enough, fast enough, to help keep her father alive through cancer treatment.
I arrived with very little and no one to lean on. I built my career from the ground up — and the further I climbed, the more I gave. More to the people around me. More to the causes that mattered. More to the cats I couldn't stop rescuing, and the strays I couldn't walk past without feeding.
Giving has always been my instinct. It started long before I had anything to give — and grew with every step forward.
But as an expat, you learn something early: no position is permanent. No salary is a guarantee. The life you've built can shift overnight, and the only thing that's truly yours is what you've created for yourself.
Divina is that. Mine — and my cats'.
"I started Divina because I believe girls deserve a little more than the bare minimum — in what they wear, and in how it arrives."
— Emily, Founder
The real reason
It started with
seven cats.
For years, I was the person who stopped. For the strays on the street, the ones no one else was feeding. For the cats that needed fostering — temporarily, then not so temporarily. The number was never fixed. The instinct always was.
Today, I have seven rescued cats at home. Each one found. Each one kept.
In 2024, I was looking for ways to make sure I could always take care of them — quietly, on the side — without depending on a salary that was never fully mine to keep. So I started Divina.
What I didn't expect was for it to become the thing I loved most.
When you order from Divina, you're supporting a one-woman show — a woman in Dubai who packs every order herself, late at night after a full day of work, and who puts a little of her heart into every box she closes.
What Divina actually is
A gifting experience
that contains jewelry.
The jewelry is real — waterproof, tarnish-free, hypoallergenic, comfortable enough to forget you're wearing it. Shower in it, sleep in it, swim in it, sweat in it. It stays. That part matters.
But the point of Divina is the moment a girl opens the box.
- —Every order arrives hand-packaged in exquisite branded packaging — because every girl deserves to feel like she's receiving a gift, not just a purchase.
- —The piece she ordered, plus a free piece she didn't expect.
- —A goodie bag of little extras: lip masks, eye masks, hair ties, beauty blenders, stickers.
- —A personal packing video filmed for her order and shared on social — because every order is a celebration.
The point is the feeling. The feeling of being seen, of receiving something that someone clearly cared about sending. The feeling that she deserves a little more than the bare minimum.
"This isn't about needing something. It's about how something makes you feel."
— Divina
Why it exists
Because girls deserve
softness.
Because girls deserve beauty in the everyday. Because girls deserve moments of pure joy that don't need to be justified. Because sometimes it's not about needing something — it's about how something makes you feel.
And because the founder knows — from her own life, in ways that go far deeper than she'll put on a page — what it is to go without softness for a long time. To build everything by hand. To reach a point where you can finally give it to others, and choose to.
That's the thing she chose to build. A small, deliberate corner of the world where women get to feel beautiful, cared for, and a little more than fine — on any ordinary day.
That's why Divina exists. Not to disrupt an industry. Not to become the next big thing. To make a girl feel, on one ordinary Tuesday, that she is worth something beautiful.
The cats are fed. The strays are fed. And somewhere, a teal box is making its way to a girl who deserves it.
Take your time. Browse. Save the pieces that make you pause.
I hope one of them ends up becoming yours.
